Acorn’s End Training & Consulting educates people and organizations by offering energetic seminars and presentations along with high quality audiotapes, videotapes and key operating manuals tailored to the individual client. Started in 1998, Acorn’s End was founded to inspire individuals and organizations to explore, discover and achieve their greatest potential. Patricia Jump MA, BSN, RN, COS-C, Owner
Owner and founder of Acorn’s End, Patricia has spent over 30 years immersed in the health care industry and brings 25 years of public speaking experience with her. She has been educating organizations for the last twenty-five years through seminars and instructional videos and has a history of effectiveness and customer satisfaction. In fact, a discussion with a typical conference attendee will likely elicit a comment like this: “Regardless of the subject, Pat’s training is always clear, concise, informative and humorous. She makes learning fun. Attending her training is a sure bet.”
Pat received her Bachelor’s Degree from Winona State University in the field of Nursing. She continued on that path to gain her Master of Arts Degree in Health and Human Services Administration from St. Mary’s University.
Due to her extremely energetic presentations and her results orientated strategies, Pat is highly sought after and most of her business comes via customer referrals. She has conducted seminars across the country where she has helped individuals and corporations reach their maximum potential.
In addition to her reputation as a leader in the health care consulting field, Pat has authored and published many audiotapes, videotapes and online training courses. She has also devised a policy manual for home care and created several mock surveys for use in the home care industry.

Shirley Kucirek is a certified coding specialist who has been conducting coding training since 2004. She was a guest speaker at the 2008 Minnesota Home Care Association, with her presentation on Medicare billing. She has her HCS-D in home care diagnosis coding and is passionate about her work. Shirley's enthusiasm in her work is contagious. She brings coding training to a practical level, translating complex details into understandable, usable information for clinicians.
Shirley has been employed by two major medical facilities in the upper mid-west gaining her experience and education in medical insurance billing and coding; the last five years, specializing in home care coding and how coding intertwines with OASIS and billing. She has extensive experience in ICD-9 coding of all OASIS and non-OASIS claims. Additionally she conducts clinical record audits for coding accuracy.
Changes in coding, billing and OASIS are changing constantly. Shirley’s continuous education in coding, billing and OASIS give her the edge to help your agency possibly achieve greater outcomes and accurate revenue.

Sue Shampine RN, C-DONA
Sue has had over 25 years of experience in nursing administration roles as well as consulting. This has included the realm of Home Care, Assisted Living, Hospice, Long Term Care and Transitional Care.
She has owned and operated her own business as a Geriatric Care Manager in which her role also included set up and organizational processes for corporate and community based Senior Foster Care as well as the care manager/care transitions role.
Sue has published articles related to the continuum of care, navigating the care system and transitions of care. Published works have also included author and editor of a state wide monthly magazine.
Sue has done presentations for individual entities as well as the MN Home Care Association and Aging Services of MN and has served in the consultant role in regard to strategic operational processes and efficiencies as well as education, reimbursement, regulatory and compliance.
She enjoys creating innovative and tactical approaches to challenging circumstances.
She has been a member of the Geriatric Care Managers Association, a current member of the MN Home Care Association, is credentialed as a Director of Nursing Administration and serves as a Board member of two non-profit organizations.
